CHILD SUPPORTIn most situations both parents, whether they are together or not, are obligated to provide financial support for their children. The State of Florida has established child support guidelines which are used to calculate the financial obligation which among other things considers the income of both parents and the number of minor children.Click Here to learn more about the Florida Child Support Guidelines (Florida Statute 61.30). If you have been served with a summons and accompanying petition to establish child support from an attorney or from the Department of Revenue be aware that there is a time frame within which you must respond (usually 20 days from the date you were served). Failure to respond, or failure to respond within the established timeframe may result in your forfeiting some or all of your rights in the case. If you are considering seeking child support, if you want to modify an existing child support order, or if you have been served with a summons and complaint regarding child support, contact us for a free consultation and learn what your rights and obligations are. You can contact us to schedule your free 30 minute consultation via phone or the Phipps Law Facebook page. We look forward to the opportunity to represent you. |
